The favia looks ok to me, do you feed it at all? If not might want to start it does look a little "thinner" then some of the others I have seen but other then that it seems ok.
Yup I feed her~spot fed her some brine shrimp just the other day and she seemed to go crazy for it~other then that I grind up to a fine powder some small wafer type food I got from BeekerBob~watching for her tentacles to show before I do. Bye the way are those mouths (don't laugh) in the center (I think I've heard them called eyes) or do they feed mainly via the tentacles? And what do you mean by (thinner)~just want to know what to look out for.
like many other things they will use their feeder tenticles to bring the food to the mouth
Correct, the feeding tentacles come out to grab food and particulate matter and bring it to the mouth. They're also used for defense/offense as they have stinging cells in them called nematocysts (can be seen in really good close-up photographs of tentacles; The little spots in them).
FWIW, that's a Montastrea species, rather than Favia, and it looks to be in great health!
