Default Haveing trouble with a moonstone brain coral!!!

I did a water change this evening and went to watch tv. Came back an hour later and found this is how my coral looked.

From what I have found the feeder tenticles are in the center and that is not where these things are. these are random and some are on the fleshy part of the coral and not the center. Also noticed that it is just on the sides and not the top of the coral??
Does water always taste like salt and poo????

It kind of looks like something is on it, like sand. Do they blow off if you squirt it with a turkey baster?

Nope I tried they are attached to the coral and look like feeder tenticles but I was under the impression that the only tenticles these guys have are in the centers.

I checked a few min. ago and there are a lot less of them. I would still like to find out for sure what they are so I know if it is normal or if I have a problem to try and fix.

You should probably overnight that coral to me so I can nurse it back to health.

Jo, when you did you water change was the water from an RO unit, it looks like it is rejecting some type of enzyme from the water. Brain Coral was always one of the hardest corals for me to keep going, good luck and hope you find what it is before it spreads.

Yes the water was fine. i am very touchy about my water since I had a problem with walmarts water. I have no idea what it was but it went away. I will look again tonight and see if it comes back ifso I will try to get more pics for a comparison.

this is just my opinion but I think you may have introduced a "more difficult" coral in to that tank a little too early. that does not look right. it does look like its rejecting something in the water.

Any suggestions on what to do?? I really like this guy. The spots went away about 2 hours after the water change so maybe it has something to do with that???? Just a thought. Hey Greg why so you say it's difficult any pointers would be appriciated.
