    Default New Photo Posting Features

I would like to point out a couple recent enhancements that you will see on almost all post and pm editors. These features are meant to make it easier for sharing photos here on CR.

The first is a little icon on the editor tool bar. Clicking this will open a popup window that will allow you to browse through your photos in your user album. Once you find the photos you are looking for, just click the photo and it will automatically put the image tags in the post/message you are composing.

Second, toward the bottom of the editor, you will see a photobucket logo. By clicking this, a box will expand and will allow you to log in to your photobucket account. You can upload new photos from CR directly to photobucket, you can then browse your photobucket albums. Once you have your photo you want to use, simply click on the photo and you will be given the URL with the image tags already added that you can copy and paste into the message you are composing.

Here is a screen shot showing the two new features:

    Information
One request when you use the CR Album, please try to give your photo a name and title that makes sense...i.e. "clownfish.jpg" instead of "DCS5769". Also type a few words in the description field. Doing this will help make the album feature more useful...these names and descriptions rotate on the homepage and it would be nice to have titles and descriptions that make sense. Also, if you size your photo before uploading it, it will likely have better quality than uploading a large photo. If photos uploaded to your CR album exceed 800 px wide or 600 px tall, CR uses a script that resizes images during the upload process. This resizing results in a slight loss of image quality.

I also recommend optimizing your photos so that they can be loaded as quickly as possible when we view them here. Photoshop and other programs allow you to do this and can significantly shrink a file size and still have an acceptable quality.
