    Default Custom 50B Sump

I'm working on a custom sump for my 120gal tank . My question is, can I remove the center brace on my 50B to be used as a sump? If I use some thicker acrylic for my baffles wouldn't this provide the same, if not better, cross support/bracing? Plus the tank won't be full to the top so there won't be as much water pressure on the seams. It is a newer 50B so the center brace is plastic and could easily be sawed off. Any help would be appreciated as this is the first time i've done this.

    Thanks,
    Craig
