    Default 48" 8x54 Watt Retro - Is this a good buy?

    I was curious if this is a good buy

    If this is, what is a good light configuration for the hood?
    4-10k 4-Actinic
    6-10k 2-Actinic

    looks ok, but if you're anything like most reefers, you'll want more!!! IMO, get yourself a dual halide w/act suppliments or just a dual halide and run decent 14 k halides.
    There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying

    IMO,its not a good fixture.Cheap ballast,cheap endcaps,cheap bulbs,cheap reflectors,and no fans.T5's are an excellent way to light a reef tank but you have to make sure you get quality components.A 4x54w IceCap660 T5 retro would be a much better choice IME.
