    Default 6' 150gal Lights?!?!

    So what's up peeps!?
I'm about to start this little 150 gal. I have an issue on the lights I should use.
They will be MH SE bulbs.
    The question I have is: Should I run (3) 250w 20Ks or (2) 400w 20Ks?

This tank has all these cross braces that wiil interfear with the position of the (3), But if I run (2), no interfearence.

I need to put lights above this tank on Sat, I need to get my 120 moved over into this one ASAP!!

    What do y'all think?

    Aaron

I posted a few pics to give some idea.

I was going to keep the Center Brace. And eliminate the two others. And thats where the 400s were going to be.

    Three braces? That's a lot.

If you go with the pair of 400w, you'll need to use luminarcs or some sort of reflector that gives a wide spread.

I have a similar tank, it it uses two braces (at the 2 foot and 4 foot location). I used a 250 on the left and right, and a 175 over the center. It looked really great.
Detroit's oldest large LED tank! Est'd Jan 2005, went LED June 2009. 6' wide 130g reef, Sunbrite T10 LED tubes (3xGen 3 and 1xGen 1), mostly SPS, but chalices, other LPS, and a few softies too.

Cut them out and put new glass ones in.

I'd do the 3-250's, if the lights are anything higher then right on top of the tank the braces shouldn't be a problem.

Soon, we will have to start dosing our tanks with BP oil to keep up with nature!

P.S. Have you checked into guying a new top trim that has only two braces?

That tank really doesn't need the 3 braces. that's why I was going to keep the center and remove the others.
    My 120 4' doesn't have any.
But I'm really liking the idea of the (2) 400s. Those should blast enough light around to give the tank the light my LPS and pallys need. I don't think I'm going SPS in ths tank.
Plus, I only have to maintain (2) bulbs instead of (3).
But that's the reason for this discussion, if there is a real true reason I should stick with the (3) 250s, that's what I need to know.
