Aqualifter pump not strong enough.

I was going to set up an auto top off similar to dakar's. I have a 30 gallon tub on a stand in my basement that gets filled from my RO/DI filter. I was going to run up from there to the sump in my living room using 1/4" tubing to my Kent Marine float switch. Then putting a tee in the line so that when the float is closed the water loops back down to the 30 gl tub.The problem is there's no way that the Aqualifter vacuum pump I bought is going to pump that far.It's extremely weak.Although it isn't all that far to run as my tub is basically under where the display tank is. Is there any other suggestions for a pump to use that would work with 1/4" tubing.

Yeah I thought I made mention that they are rated for something like 13" max of head pressure.

How about choking down a small to mid size powerhead, maybe something like a Maxijet 600.
