    Default Broken Koralia impeller shaft

I just discovered that the ceramic shaft on my Koralia 2 somehow snapped during operation. I'm not exactly sure when it happened but there was a brief power outage today and I suspect it broke when the pump restarted. Does anyone know if a replacement can be purchased (I couldn't find anything on Marinedepot and only a steel one on Premium Aquatics), or if there is a good DIY fix?

    Thanks for your help,
    Tom

I'd try Pruess....if they don't have them they can probably put you in touch with one.
I simply can't trust people that don't like bacon,

That is likely what I'll do. I was just wondering if there were other options since they tend to be $$$.

About 2/3 of the way down from the front.

Mine was still spinning but the magnet on the impeller was not fully seated and there was no flow being produced by the powerhead. If the impeller wasn't spinning I'd venture to guess that the magnet and/or housing is dirty and needs to be cleaned.

I had one of mine break just at the point where it sits in the "cap" so I pulled the small section out, and just seated what was left of the shaft into the same spot, works like a charm.

My k 3 broke in the middle, I just put it back in and held the housing during start up and it is working fine. When it quits I will use stainless steel for a replacement. You can get that at any good hardware store or hobby shop and it is cheep.

Great suggestion. I tried it and it works but it rattles and makes too much noise.

I wish that were an option but it did not break near the end.

I think the stainless steel route is where I'm headed. Thank you. As long as it is stainless is that all I need to worry about?

    Thanks again,
    Tom

That is what about 1/2 of the pumps and power heads are using.
