whats the difference between t5 and t6 lights?
ive read that t5 lights penetrate deeper than PC lights, so I think im gonna add a 4 bulb t5 fixture to my PCs. Are t6's better than t5's?
currently have ric's, shro0ms, zoa's, trumpet coral, frogspawn, inverts, and some fish.
want to get an anemone for my clownfish, which would be better?
also. Have 4x65w PC fixture on a 75gal tank. Would a 2x54w bulb t5 be adequate, or should I get a 4x54w bulb t5? anyone know a go0d place for a nice deal on retrofit kits?
I have never heard of t6 bulbs. Basically the number portion of T5 stands for 5/8" of an inch in diameter. T8 are 1"(8/8") diameter and T12 (12/8") are 1.5" diameter. I would suggest 4 x 54W over your 75. I will dig out the link for where I bought my T-5 from tonight if I get a chance.
Just to toss in info - I've bought T5s from http://www.reefgeek.com/ twice and have been very pleased with the shipping (from CA to GA), the prices, and (most importantly) the customer service.
Quick question, how comfortable are you wiring up your lights? Would you prefer to order pieces (sockets, reflectors, ballasts...) seperately or as a complete kit? Ordering the pieces seperately would probably save you some $$ but the kits are easier.
im fine with wiring up my own stuff, I just dont really know what I need.
I was gonna add the T5s to my existing 4bulb PC fixture. Shoudl I have my daylights in the T5 and actinics in the PC or does it matter?
