    Default Freaked out skimmer!!!

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Yesterday afternoon I decided to mount some of my hard corals withtwo part exopy stick. I pretty much used the 8" whole stick I have played with exopy some before but never in this amount. I turned off the skimmer, since I know that the epoxy will freak it out skimmer. I left the skimmer for about 5 hours. When I plugged it in, I got a huge amount of wet white foam that quickly filled my 2 quart overflow bottle. I unplugged the skimmer and decided it hadn't been long enough yet. I just tried it again, 24 hours later, with same effect. It spewed out about a gallon of foam in about 10 minutes and it wasn'tslowing down. Do I need to dial down the skimmer or justwait is while longer? I also noticed that pH isway up, 8.55. Is this an effect of the epoxy or the skimmer being off? I amplanningon doing a 15% water change tomorrow nightso that should help out some.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Sounds normal. Are you producing clear liquid from the foam???
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying

IMO, run it at it's lowest possible and adjust as skim allows.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Well I opened the water valve full open and closed the air valve, which should mean I dialed down as far as she goes and I am still getting huge amount of foam. I decided to just put the overflow tube back into the sump and let it run for a while. My pH is up to 8.6 #ed_op#IMG src="/richedit/smileys/10.gif"#ed_cl#which I am guessing it has more to do with the skimmer being off then the epoxy. My temp isalso up which could effect the pH as well, right?I am see if I can find a fan to put on the tank.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I actually had the oppurtunity to do a 12G water change tonight to see if it would resolve my problem. I used the overflow tube on the skimmeras the output and filled the top off withnew water. It took about two hours to change out the 12 gallons. The skimmer isslowing down but still outputtingat to high of rate. I guess I will try another 12 G tomorrow night. Do you think carbon will help with the problem. There was some(2 tablespoons) in there all ready before I added the epoxy. Maybe change this out or just add more(maybe double)?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
