    Default Help with shopping please!

I found these lights on Ebay. I'm a newb of course so I could use a little help. I know the saying *ya get what ya pay for* but my pockets are real shallow, so the price is right for me. Specially the one with the timer!!! Thanks for taking time to look.

One thing I would stay away from is the reflector "contoured to each bulb". This is much different that individual reflectors. Personally I think these may be ok for a fish only but I would not recommend them for a reef.

NEVER and I repeat N E V E R, buy a light that is not UL listed. There have been many cases where people buy cheap lights and they burn their house up, and when you make an insurance claim and the fire was caused by a non UL listed item, you are out of luck, no check, no paying off your house, no replacing your lost items.

Granted this is more often the case with MH lighting but why take the chance to save $100.

ok first you have a little 8g nano right?? the smallest light on the page you posted is a 24" at least right now wich would overhang your tank by quite a bit

I also agree dont buy a non ul rated light

and lastly are you running a canopy if so you can actualy get a retro set ballast and everything for about the same price or cheaper with better bulbs even
