Would an 1200gph overflow box be enough for a 26g? With a 1200gph pump? To much? To little?

That sounds like alot, way too much IMO.
wayyy to much, i only have around 350gph pushing through my 29g tank, have a 600gph rated overflow on it. i have a mag 5 on it right now, if i upgrade to a mag 7 (500gph flow at my height) then my overflow should still handle it but 500gph plus a k2 in a 29g is to much flow, right now with the 300gph and k2 i get great flow
Yeah I thought it would be to much. So a 300gph would be fine?

it really depends on your overflow. if you have a 22g tank i would say see if you can find a pump that pushes say 275gph at the height of your tank, then look into getting a 350-400gph overflow
http://www.lifereef.com/frame.html
go down from there and you will see a nano-prefilter box (overflow) its rated for 400gph, so if you had a pump that pumped 300gph at the height of your tank then you will be fine.
Which one for my 26g bowfront?

the nano one would be good, get a mag 5 return pump depending on height, they usually push 300gph at like 4 feet so if its got to pump that high then you should be good. try to stay around 300gph if you get the 400gph overflow
I'm beginning to think I know what I'm doing )
Nano it is then!!! Now I'm gonna go count my monies in da piggy bank )

I've got a nice overflow rated for around 300gph. You could have it for around $15. Check out my selling thread. Breaking down 30g

heck miztanks avoid the possible hassles of a hob over flow and drill the back and put a standard over flow box with bulkhead to drain water much safer IMO as you are not relying on a siphon to be maintained to work gravity dose the job
this one would work great for that 26g tank
I have been reefing from 08-2007 till 5-2011
reef tanks are like wifes you have to give them some attention every now and then
