    Default Icecap 660 issues

Hello all, I think my 660 ballast is dead, I bought another used one and it doesnt work either, i put 4 new bulbs in the tank and still acting weird. does anyone have a 660 set up I can bring my ballasts over see if they work on your tank, and then I can get this figured out so I can get lighting working again.

    thanks

Jarrod, if you lived closer, I could help out.

It sounds like the wiring is not making a good connection, either through a broken wire or a bad connection in the endcaps. Sometimes, the bulb rotates out if you bump the reflector and does not make a good connection.

Do you have a continuity tester? If so, look here for troubleshooting any bad connections.

are you using a same common wireing harness on both? double check and be sure there are not any stuck or broken pins, also check and see if the harness is in tact and none of the pins are touching. lastly if those are fine plug it in then touch one of the bulbs with your finger, if the bulb shows any signs of light at that point then you have a bad ground.

unfortunately icecap is out of business for the time being but they may be back up and running soon. evil had stated a while back that workhorse 7's are the only workhorse that overdrives the bulbs so you could possibly try to use that as a replacement.

ya problem is it sparks the bulbs for a second and goes out.. the original one doesnt do anything now, the one i bought used just sparks and stops, yes same harness, it only does two bulbs, i have checked all the pins and everything and I have new bulbs just thought maybe if someone had easy access with a 660 ballast i can test these ones out. I will probably order a workhorse 7 always had good luck with them, the other lights are work horse 5's just wanna get this figured out so i can sell the system working properly.
