When you use a dimming ballast for LEDs, does this save energy or is it just burnt up in the ballast like when using a standard light dimmer. Anyone ever measured the mains input amps on the AC?

Anyone can grow Zoa's and LPS I have some in my sump.
It does save energy. I notice a difference on my Apex which monitors current draw.
Also IMO dimmability of LEDs is one of their best features. It allows customization of the color and lighting intensity.
If you look at the graph of the amperage, you can see that the slope is gradual as they ramp up and down throughout each day: Apex History
