    Default Poly Pad Question

Does a poly pad/filter take calcium or magnesium (supplements) out of
the water. I think i have high phosphates because i use tap water so i
try and put a poly pad/filter in my fluval every now and then to take
all the bad stuff out but i just wasnt sure if the poly pad will also
take out the good stuff. Please let me know or direct me to a link that
    may help.

    Thanks,
    BLONDIE!!

IMO, your problem could stem from several different areas... please explain your water source, feeding habits(how often/how much), your bio-load(fish), and your filtration. I suggest replacing the fluval with a sump/refugium and adding a skimmer if you don't already have one.
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying
