Default Canister Filtration with an open mind.

Would like unbiased opinions only please. Other wise, keep an open mind to something other then a sump/refugium for filtration.

Is this for the 26 gal salt tank..I know people that have used canister filters for sw tanks but they are alway tweaking them and always stay on top of the filters in the canister..i can be alot of work..but you can do it..

miz I have never seen or used that filter you posted the link to I like either the ehiem or fluval canister filters myself

that being said canisters can be very effective if they are meticulously maintained

the problem with them and the reason they are not common in the reef tanks is they tend to be nitrate factories if not cleaned regularly and often far more then in fresh water systems
I have been reefing from 08-2007 till 5-2011

reef tanks are like wifes you have to give them some attention every now and then

I wasn't looking to buy~still going with the HOB refugium~just wanted to hear what others have to say about them. They have come a long ways from when I first started keeping an aquarium. The link I posted showed a canister filter that I could actually see filled with LR and Cheato. But then again I'm still a newb with a mind that never stops, or haven't ya's noticed? LOL
