    Default new MH is here

My new 250w XM10k has arrived. My IceCap ballast had no problem firing it.Right now,I'm using the 2 layers of screen method for acclimating. It is very different than what i've been using. My greens aren't that vibrant anymore but purple's look better. The bulb is white with just a slight yellowish cast on SB.I think it will look perfect when i add 1x39wT5 blue+ and 1x39wT5act03.My T5 bulbs should be here today(had to swap current bulbs to other tank due to bulb breakage) so i hope to have pics soon.Overall, for $55,I think they're a good deal.I guess its just gonna take time getting used to it although i'm sure i'll be pleased when the actinics are running.

That is very close to the way my lighting is arranged other than my halides are just 175 watts ea. I am considering adding a single 250 watt HQI to the center of the tank to run for 2-4 hrs per day(high noon)...probably a 13k or so.
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying
