1st yes water might be wishful but I have heard more then one report it does make water clearer so it could be a placebo effect. I didn't test the water before adding it I have it feeding into the skimmer on a t feeding in at about 55 an hour and set to top off at bout 350 plan to leave it there for a while and then let it go up to the 375 margin so far corals and fish all seem happy here is a link to some pics of my tank not that it matters much the one with my daughter and lab were taking shortly before I got the ozone.
