    Default Overflows

I have a similar setup in 1.5" plumbing i thought the max flow through this pipe would be around 1500 gph a number i got from a calculator on a different site. 1 " plumbing should max around 600 gph. When i was playing around and put a 90 elbow on the out side the water level would rise and fall in the overflow box suck air and sound not unlike a toilet flushing. So I put a t fitting on the outside of bulkhead and the vent solved that problem. However when I put a second return pump for around 700 or 800 gph the system would barely keep up! Puzzles me as i run 400 gph through a 1" u tube siphon overflow on a different system. I wonder if low pressure is a factor in the flow of these surface skimming boxes???????????????????

Im sure that does have somthing to do with it as the siphon is sucking water and the other is just draining.
