    Default Lumen Max 3 spread

I am putting a 150w DE radium ~ lumen max 3 over a tank that is only 12inches wide about the same width as the pendant. The length is 36" Can you tell me which way I might get better spread of light if the bulb is perpindicular or parallel with the length of the tank. Since the pendant is about square I can place it either way. Thanks

I think down is the best direction....:p

I always just try to orient it so the long side is lined up with the tank's long side.

Jim has the right idea... you want the shape of the bulb to mimmic the shape of the tank
