and use the pump from the old skimmer to run my return. I loved my DIY PVC skimmer, but am very sure this will outperform the old one. Looking forward to hooking this up!

I would much rather have a skimmer that size with one large, high quality pump than 3 undersized pumps trying to to the same job. Obviously your looking at skimmers in the sub $500 range. Im crazy about my Pat cone, but the nicer cones, along with the Bk's are spendy, dang nice though.

Yup- that is the old skimmer. the new skimmer is the one in the link.

The PVC skimmer performed beyond expectation, but figured an upgrade was in order.

I am looking in the sub $150 range, used, bigger than 8" in diameter. Found it.

I could be wrong and often am but 3 pumps = 3 times the noise.
But it should be a working monster.
