I talked to the manufacturer, and they say that the Fission skimmer is specifically designed for the aquapods. It might work fine in any "pod" or "cube" type tank that has a water level control in the filter chamber.

In a tank that size, I dont think you even need a skimmer...

Its all in the water changes in my opinion. 1g per week is good enough with a low stocking level, 2g per week if you plan to add a bit more fish and also make sure you test you tank water and the new water every time you do a water change and make sure they are the same.

I think thats what I would do.

Also, In addition to your water changes, make sure that you keep up with eveporation (top-off often) because your water chemistry can shift very easily in such a small amount of water.

i'll get some pictures in a few days.

here is my experance with the skimmer

i put one in my 20 gal long, it doesn't work. well it works but with alot of micro bubbles and it hardly pulls anything out.

and like you may or may not know i work at my lfs and we have the nano cube on display and we spent several hours trying to figure out how it get the skimmer to fit in the back like it should, we never could figure it out. so we put it in the front and it not only looked ugly we had the same problem with too many micro bubbles
