Has anyone used these on their reef?

I'm thinking I could attach them to my mesh screen top around the perimeter since they are waterproof. My thought is to use them for dusk/dawn with a halide pendant. Here is the mesh top:

Jim I can't find the thread I got that link from, but that is exactly what people were using them for. The were zip tying them to the frame and other creative stuff.

For dawn/dusk, they should work pretty well. They will be a far sight brighter than your typical moonlights, and there will be lot's of lovely fluorescence. If you have never had the chance to see what blue LEDs can do, you are in for a treat.

Can you recommend one of the power supplies on their site for me? I'm looking to initially purchase two of the light bars but will eventually probably want to power 4-5 of them.

Also would be cool if it could dim the LEDs via a controller...not sure if any of their power supplies have that option.

Much cheaper than what Superbrightleds offers. You will be able to run up to 5 strings off one supply.

What sort of vold/amp etc do I need for a power supply with 2-5 of them. I have a lot of wall worts around here.

But my thought was to get something fancier that would allow me to dim them...

never used this type but I know walmart had some flex led strings that I had used for moon lighting for a while gave a nice blue hue to the tank but couldn't see them with the main lights on

Haven't seen those much cheaper. You might be able to save a few bucks on ebay.

On those strips, they draw 640mA each. Multiply that by the number of strings you want to run in parallel and that's the minimum current you need for the power supply.
