coralife or excaliber

Currently have an excaliber skimmer,which recently took a dive. Bought superskimmer125 from lfs. Since then ran white vinegar and water through excal running alright now but real fussy. Any thoughts on superskimmer 125.

I have the SuperSkimmer 220 (or whatever number it is) and I love it. Greg has one too (graphixx) and he likes his too. Mine pulls not the darkest skimmate, but thick goop around the neck and the collection cup. If I tweaked it more, I'm sure I could get it to work better. I'm lazy.

We have a Coralife 125 on one of our 44g tanks... for the $100, it's tough to beat... as Eric mentioned, after a 5-7 days the neck coated with gunk to the point it's almost closed off, when I take the time to dial it in it will fill the collection cup with very dark skimmate... I just take the lazier route and let it build on the neck and clean it every few days... so long as it is being removed from the water I don't care.

Haven't had the opportunity to play with the Excaliber brand yet, so have no first hand knowledge of it to compare.

Do you have room to run both? It sure wouldn't hurt the tank any, and might provide for some good comparisons.

Duh. Now that I think of it, I recently tossed an Excalibur skimmer. It was a HOB model and put way too many microbubbles back into the tank for the level of skimmate I was getting out. It might have been great in a sump on a smaller tank though.
