There are a number of things that factor into this:

1) What size of tank are you looking at buying?

2) Do you just want the tank or an AIO (All in one) setup which basically comes with all the equipment included?

3) Do you have an LFS (Local Fish Store) nearby?


If you are looking at doing a smaller tank (ie 20 Gallon Long or 40 gallon breeder) and just want the tank itself then Petco is the place to go right now as they are doing their dollar per gallon sale in store on the 20 Long and have the 40 Breeder for $56.
