Curious who else built thier own skimmers.... Here's your chance to show off too! My latest monstrosity can be seen in the DIY thread, along with my first attempt that is still churning away, nobody ever said they had to be pretty.

Dakar, one of the wwrc members made his own skimmer.....resembels an aquac but cost him $40 to build and it works like a damn maniac. I can try to get some pics for you if you want.

Definately.... I'm sure a lot of others would like to see as well... Think I have a total of about $12 in my latest creation (obviously not counting the pump).

I'm a nutcase when it comes to DIY, even though some things got out of control and cost me more than buying it would have. Still more fun to DIY.

I run a Red Sea Prism and I am not impressed. I haven't really thought of building a DIY skimmer but hey why not for 12 bucks. I would love to see those plans GT.

:smt064 making an offer like that and holding back is just plain mean to some of us fools that think they can build anything...

BTW found the problem with one of my DIY skimmers, oddly enough a MJ1200 losses a lot of its efficiency to chop up air when a rubber band in wrapped around the impeller blades, still pumps water okay though. only find this out when I took it down to install the new Berlin Turbo that arrived today :banghead:
