    Default Who siphones their overflow???????

in the process of a water change right now and noticed about an inch of detritus in my overflow. Siphoned it out and what a foul odor it chose to great me with. some of it was black!!totally siphone the sump but never looked at the overflow. Going to make this part of the regular routine now.

I'm afraid to siphon areas like that... I never know what kind of nasty crap I will stir up into the water column.

Then again, my typical 25gallon water change consists of only opening the drain valve on my closed loop into 5 5gal buckets, and then connecting the brute to the valve on the return pump
