They're pretty hardy in a stable tank but can be prone to tissue peeling.I recently lost my prized Echinopora sp.(chalice) to this condition. The species i've kept like decent flow and moderate to bright light.Dont be fooled by their thin tissue and small corallites. These corals can produce sweepers 5" long and are aggressive if kept around certain corals they feel are a threat.I've kept the plating species and would mount them where in a spot that will encourage this type of growth. If possible,on an overhang off of the LR that is close to the sand which will help light reflect to the undersides.

yeah, you could mount them like a cap. What i'd do is glue the side that is broken to the LR so that the "plate" sticks out off of the rock. The broken side will encrust rapidly. IME,growth with the species i've kept is pretty fast.My quarter size frag doubled in size in 2 months

Hey Jerry! How did you get the Chalis frag? I've never seen one, and would love to see a picture. I hope it takes to the rock for you! ....Angel

This was once a beautiful coral,i had it for about 8 months and fragged it/traded it so at least a frag of it is still alive.
