    Default Euphyllia buds

I was checking out my hammer coral at night when the polyps withdraw and noticed about 4 tiny buds growing off the skeleton where the tissue meets it I've read that its common but havn't seen it before.I was wondering what would be the best way to grow these out.Wait until they are released by the coral or break them off and glue them down so they dont get lost in the tank.Anyone have any experience with these?

Try to remove 1 and see how well all goes... if good, then do em all, if not... a lesson learned.
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying

My hammer also has all of the babies. It has 11 of them right now. There's a pic of it in the gallery under LPS corals.

Let me know how it goes, so I know what to do with mine.

    Thanks,
    Angie

The buds are growing fast. I thought the hammer was a goner, but the babies are doing fine.

with the parent being a goner I'd just let them keep growing out of the dead skeleton.Mine are almost ready to cut off.

I have no intension of cutting them off. The hammer was a rescue in the first place, then when my ro unit went bad, my nitrates went sky high. (80ppm+) Now that they are getting back to a more normal level, the buds are fine. Before i would cut anything I would come here with picks and questions.

Wow.... I have one dead head on one of mine. It came that way from the LFS. I'm going to keep an eye on it and see if anything like that happens to it. That's real neat!
