Ours puts out little feeder tentacles. Seems to take brine, mysis and cyclopezze.

Put it on an open area of the sand bed... now get a plastic 2 liter soda bottle and cut out the bottom(looks like a funnel, huh?). Now, place over the brain while it is clear of any scavengers(crabs, fish, shrimp, etc) and place a couple of small pieces of raw squid, silver sides, thawed chunks of brine shrimp, etc on the open part of the brain(preferably just after lights out). Shouldn't take long to start to see a positive response, however, they tend to eat very slowly so be prepared to spend some time waiting so that you can remove the bottle... try this, maybe 1 time per week when the brain seems to be acting less active during the light period or seems to remain more "deflated".
There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying

I target feed my open brain once a week using a medicine squirter. I squirt the food (frozen brine shrimp) at the base of the tentacles and they close up on it. The next day he looks all inflated and happy.

Sometimes the "lips" even pucker when I feed the fish.

I knew I should have explained why I would have liked to see a picture of JerryC's open brain. I wanted to see if it's similar to my meat eating brain which we still having a hard time identifying. When we bought it, the store had it labeled as a pineapple brain. It's definitely not a pineapple brain! Anyway, I wanted to see if they were at least similar, and since I'm the hand feeding queen over here, if they were...I thought I could help. I do the brine shrimp thing with just like Whoyah does. I have given it silversides and also sprayed it's tenticles with cylclopeez as well. It kind of eats whatever everyone else is eating on their special hand feed day! Spoiled corals! Jerry, here's a picture of ours!

Angel,Looks like Cynarina to me,can you get a skeletal pic of the underside.
On the open brain(assuming its T.geoffroyi)feed at night when tentacles around oral disc are present.Mine will eat anything(mysis, frozen cube of prime reef, even watched it swallow a whole silverside.Mine gets 2 direct feedings a week

I'll have to see if I can get a shot of the underside. It's mounted on a rock, and the last time I was looking it over, the base reminded me of a frog spaw base...just short of course. I'll get some more pictures.

When the vesicles(bubble like tissue) swell up,do they appear almost translucent allowing you to see the septa?(skeletal ridges).
