    Default H. Erectus Seahorses

I'm looking for a new home for 5 of my seahorses. Due to a current change in circumstances, I have to downsize. I currently have 26 seahorses and that's just too many, lol.

All 5 are eating frozen Hikari mysis. They are Healthy. 2 are black, 1 yellow, and 2 are silver. Price is flexible and can be discussed in pm. If you are interrested please pm me. I'm taking down yet another one of my many tanks.

Please know the requirements of keeping seahorses before you decide to buy them.

DESPRATE!!!!! I will also trade all 5 seahorses for a boy / girl pair of the 2005 walmart keepsake memories bears. I have been giving them to my sister for christmas since 1992. (she collects them) I didn't get them for her last year and she was so heart broken because they were sold out by the time she realised I didn't buy them for her. My biggest christmas wish it to locate a pair for her this christmas. I feel like it's my fault she didn't get them because everyone in the family just assumed I would get them as always.

Yes Greg....I saw that listing. The listing title says "2005" bear on it, but look at the tag on the bear and the date on the foot...it is a 2002 bear, not a 2005. I contacted the seller and let them know it was listed wrong.

The seahorses have all been sold. I sold them to Diane B. on the org. She is very experienced with seahorses and she lives by my daughter's father so they will get delivered to her without having to ship them in the middle of winter. I didn't like the though of them bouncing around in a cold truck during the crazy christmas shipping season. They will go their new home on December 31st.

Thank you to everyone who pm'd me and was interrested in them. With any luck, my 11 week old fry will be up for sale in the future.

Rhapala.....a 10g tank is not a good size for any seahorse. It is too big for dwarfs and too small for anything else. You may want to research the tank requirements for the species you are interrested in. I know of a few people who keep a pair of Kudas in a 20G high tank. I would never go any smaller then that. I personally don't think anything less then a 29g is a good home for them. Could they live in a 10g...sure. Would they be happy....probably not. It's up to us to provide more then just the minimum requirements. Make them happy.......and you will be happy with them. Good luck.

Not necessarily true... depends on the number of Zosterae you want to keep. My first ever seahorse tank (in the early 80's) was a 10 gallon dwarf tank that ultimately housed a dozen zosterae. Should you put a pair of dwarves in a ten gallon? No, because you couldn't concentrate their food enough for them to feed properly. However, in numbers, this would be okay.

Also, given that today's market puts out various dimension tanks, a "gallon" rule wouldn't be appropriate. For instance, the Via Aqua 12 gallon tanks are tall and thin. They are WONDERFUL for dwarves if kept in herds of a dozen or so.

A ten gallon tank is far too small/short for any of the larger species...as you said...

Excellent advise for the larger breeds!
