Default 6 line versus a Orange Fire fish.

Could an Orange FF intimidate a 6 line? Trying to figure out why my new 6 line has taken to hiding?

Yeah he's definitely munching on the rocks Looking like a lil porker~lol. He made an appearance so I feel a little better. I was just hoping for a more visual fish. Looking at the same FF all day is kind of BORING!!!

Ok now I'm really bummed No sign of the 6 line today...at all! I've always liked the looks of this fish but for the last 3yrs never got one because of the reviews I've read from other reefers. About them being so territorial. Only after I brought one home did I read that they are actually very shy! NOT what I was hoping for. So between a very shy 6 line and a very skittish FF, my tank looks once again as if it has NO fish in it!

Thought I would share my experience so far with sixlines.
First off, one of my favorite fish. But, I am actually on my 3rd sixline right now, something I am not too proud to admit.
My first one was great, got along well with my two clownfish. I had a cover for the aquarium, but one day I left slightly ajar due to some maintance;he found his way out a small opening and went carpet surfing. My second sixline was a bit smaller, probably 1.5". After l put him in the tank he headed for the rockwork and was not to be seen again. I do not know what happened with him. I eventually bought a third, and he has been hardy and active just like the first. I have had him probably 6 months now. While apparently they can be territorial, I did add a fourth fish several months later, a pajama cardinal, and the sixline has not been aggressive towards him in the least. Just thought I would share my experience.

Thanks BC Well I've yet to see him so far today. I've checked the entire surrounding area of carpet and nadda. I can only assume that he's in there somewhere. Alive or dead is unknown Thing is...around here we pay $29.99 per 6 line, which I traded some fragged Lavender star palys for him. Otherwise I would not have been able to get him.

I have a six line in my 300g... I sometimes see him as a flash. Other times, it might be months. LOL I have a yellow watchman goby that I seriously thought was long gone. After not seeing him for what seemed like a year... all of sudden.. there he is. Go figure. I'm sure he'll appear...and be all porked out in the process.

You should see him once in a while in a 26 bowfront though. Mine is fairly reclusive, but makes a pass around the front of the tank every few minutes.
