Start feeding it well, and maybe see if there's vitamins or something that you can soak the food in prior to feeding. Other than that, a nice tank and some time will tell I suppose.

Oh yeah, and quit rubbing your "deals" in everyone's faces. LOL

i am awaiting a response from Kelly Jedlicki on what she thinks this is (not that i don't trust you guys), but she is an EXPERT in the fish health and wellness categlory on MD and a member of my local club. then i will know for sure what i will be doing with this fish. it will probably be going back to the LFS that i got it from if she says the same thing as you guys.

I saw a sailfin with this at my LFS. It was quite a bit worse than yourse. Theirs is looking much better with varied foods and excelent water quality being the ony treatment. They told me that poor water quality and poor feeding is what usually causes this.
Does water always taste like salt and poo????

I would try feeding the tang some Nori or other seaweed soaked in Selcon. I agree with all of the other that poor water conditions and poor diet contributed to the problem. The Selcon has lots of needed fats into help the fish heal. Good luck. I hope you can get her fixed up.

well i am sorry to say that this fish is gone back to the LFS that i got him from. he is going home with one of the guys that work there, so he can get some much needed TLC. the guy said that if he cant see a difference in a month or so ... that i could HAVE him, to give to Kelly, for some expert TLC. either way he is in a better place right now, cuz i just dont have the time for a "special needs" fish. thanx for all the quick responses to this subject. if i can get Steve Pro's permission, i will be adding an article on MHLLE to the articles and referances section of these forums. thanx again everyone !!
