    Default chewed up yellow tang

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#Hey guys-- There is a lab downstairs from my lab that studies sea urchins-- in this one tank they have a damselfish, a blue dot puffer, and a yellow tang-- with about 7 huge sea urchins-- pin cushion?-- anyways the yellow tang is chewed up-- They adopted this fish from an office upstairs-- but they say the fins are not getting better . . . any ideas? The damsel is small and the tang is of good size-- I don't think the puffer, or the damsel are doing it- right?- you think parasite? #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Well, I do know that you should not put a puffer in a reef tank. They are not reef friendly. They love to munch on small fish. Our LFS said that they aren't as sweet and friendly as they look, and offered for me to stick my finger in the tank with him and see what happens. Well, all I did was touch the glass and he was after it. The sea urchins shouldn't hurt the tang unless the tang is going near them and injuring itself. There's my thoughts on that one.

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#oh they don't have a reef tank-- there is no coral in the tank . . . it's a lab- they study sea urchin gametes-- They said they never see the puffer messing with the tang-- Hopefully it will get better-- I don't know what the deal is-- it's top fin is completely gone . . .#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
