    Default Clown Triggers

Will a small clown trigger eat my pencil urchin? What exactly will it eat in my reef tank. I have some snails, crabs, bubble tip anemone+ clown, 2 coral banded shrimps. I think clown triggers will eat snails and crabs but what about the rest?

they will probably eat anything !! mostly LPS polyps and probably even SPS polyps, your soft corals would not stand a chance !!
    Balistoides conspicillum ( clown triggerfish),
They may manifest a Jeckle and Hyde personality, peaceful for many months then turning nasty. nipping and even killing its tankmates. to keep this trigger with other fish will require a VERY large tank (as they get about 20") with plenty of hiding places. keep only one and keep with large fish or fish of equal agrressiveness. and it has been known to bite the hand that feeds it !!

there are triggers suitable for a reef tank but should be added with caution ... pink tail, niger, blue chin, sargassum, crosshatch to name a few.
