So far, I've been very lucky with my babies. They seem to be easier to care for than all the work I put into our reef tank. I plan on having the most important medications on hand in case there is a break out of something. They sure are friendly with me, and they love to look at themselves in the mirror background. It's real cute! Good luck with you sick little one Angie. I hope she gets better soon!
My ponies always stay black. I brought home yellow ones, but now they stay black most of the time. I can see the lighter belly on my 2 males in the tank. That's a helpful identifier when sexing your seahorses!
Thanks DavidP for your continuing support of CaptiveReefing as our resident expert! I don't know what we'd do without you! You are appreciated! ....Angel :angel2:

Your black ponies will color up fine. Three out of my 4 turned yellow in a few weeks to a month. The last turned yellow in just 3 days. It's a "mood thang" and an age thing.

I found the Methylene Blue, furanase, and furan-2 at marine land in onalaska. I found the BiFuran+, PraziPro, Formalin, bioBandage, Coppersafe, and Maracyn-Two at Olde Towne Pets in LaCrosse. I also just got some acriflavine in the mail from the web.
I WILL NEVER get caught without the proper meds again. I'm to the desperate point and it seems like it is all hopeless at this point. Neither one is eating and I stillhave 1 more day with the maracyn 2. The white spot on the male is gone, but they still arn't eating. I will do a 100% water change tomorrow and then I will try an internal parasite medication. I am trying everything I can think of. I have posts on 4 different boards and nothing is working. I was told to Tube feed them, but I can't do that. I don't want to hurt them and I can't get the supplies I need to do that.
Tube feeding may not work if they are that far along. I did that with a sick pony once, (wild caught, just wouldn't take frozen) and was able to get food into her, but once released, she would literally puke it back up in coughing spurts.
