    Thanks for the info Renee. As long as you have a name for the intestinal flagellates, would you mind posting an explaination of what they are. It would be helpful to me and any others who may have followed the thread to know what to do for them and where to find addition information. Thanks!

    The clear substance you describe matches the clinical features observed with the protozoa flagellates. They are often seen causing great damage to the intestinal wall and in response the lining of the stomach puts out this protectant type slime to combat the irritant. The human gut does it as well. Kindda like when you stress/damage a coral and they get that mucous layer.... well you get the idea. That is what you are seeing in the feces.

    Metronidazole is the best treatment and is most effective when ingested. It can be administered as a bath in a hospital tank with the medication being absorbed through the gills. But orally is best when possible.
