    Default Discoloring of fish.

when you go to the fish store in my case petco and see a fish that is pale and washed out what does this indicate. the reason i am asking is because i went to petco today to get some crickets for my fire bellied toad and when ever i go i always look at what they have for fish. on my pass by i saw a huge yellow tang that was a pale yellowish white color swimming around with some other yellow tangs in the tank. also last weekend when i was there the same fish was in the tank and had a bit more color then he did today.
    thanks

    its probaly a disease
Was it trying to scratch it self on rocks?
Normally you might not want to buy saltwater fish from Petco. Try a local small pet store that specalizes in saltwater.

well now that you mention it i saw the fish try to push his face into the crushed coral sub. once or twice.

i wasn't going to buy anything, just looking around while the fish guy went and got me 40 small crickets.

the fish probaly had amyloodinium ocellatum.
It is okay to buy fish from petco its just better if you know that some one who is experienced in saltwater works their insted of some body who is just trying to get some quick money and dosent care about fish
The petco near my house has some really nice people and a couple of people who own SW aquariums.

I've been to 3 different petco's and there are alot more diseased fish. I would reccomend going to a fish only store, or something like that. Fish doesn't seem to be there main field at petco
