fish compatabilty chart

this chart will help begginer and advanced fish keepers in helping decide which fish is best suited for each other. I have decided to list this chart it seams to be the only one i could find online at all.I have been using this chart sinse the beginning of this hobby 4 1/2 yrs and so far it hasnt steered me wrong yet. http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/c...lity_chart.cfm
also Iwould like to share tips on finding the right fish for you and your set up .
whether you purchase your fish online or from a LFS.before any purchase research the fish its tank size requirements feeding needs and compatabitly these are very importan factors when deciding which species is best for you and your likings. look online get an idea of the looks of the fish you like then follow it by what other tank mates you desire for it.so many fish tanks fail to thrive do to incompatability .knowing who goes with who will in the long run is half the battle of keeping fish in a stress free enviroment. the last thing any of us want is to spend a fortune on one single fish to have them completely devistate the rest of the tank and lose hundreds even thousands of dollars worth of live stock do to one wrong addition.i hope many can find this chart as helpful as i have and happy reefing

Darn a 16" clown trigger can't live with my gobies, and corals. Oh well back to the drawing board. Nice chart I like it.

No Don, Triggers don't go in a reef unless ur feeding it the corals.

Really I thought that the human eating gobies would be fine with the triggers and they would protect the corals.

Well if your talking human eating gobies to protect corals then I suppose you could make an exception. Now to find a tank, or better yet a human willing to feed you up to it Don?

Just so the newbies know ... not ALL triggers are banned from the reef tanks. the Niger, Pink Tail, Blue Chin, Crosshatch, and Sargassum are reef safe triggers that i plan on adding one or two of sooner or later. the triggers that are reef safe are few and far between but they are out there for us to enjoy. at most the larger ones, of these triggers, may eat on ornamental shrimp.
