There is a common opinion among experts in the net, that Harlequin Filefish can feed only on live Acropora polyps, thus is a fish not suitable for keeping in reef aquarium. That is hmmm.... not absolutely true . If anybody is seriously interested in keeping Oxymonacanthus Longirostris in captivity - there is a working methodology of it's adoptation to substitute foods (including fresh, frozen and even dry). I've tried it and developed a bit for my particular fish. As a result - this reef beauty is living (and demonstartes healthy behavior) in my small reef tank for more than 5 months already. I can share this practice with serious aquarists, ready to spend necessary time on target feeding and daily observation during the first 2-3 weeks of adoptation (after 3-4 weeks new feeding habits are almost set).
