:seahorse: While getting ready for church this morning, I was sitting on the side of my bed and the Seahorse tank lights flipped on to reveal Snickett's first batch of babies! How exciting! They must have been born in the early morning hours because the amount of little ones is small...maybe 100 or so. Some had to have gone to natural selection, unfortunately some to filtration, and the rest are in a 1 gallon jug doing quite well! The other thing taken into consideration with these babies are that they are Snickett's 1st babies, and the fry count may be smaller due to it being his first batch! They are adorable, and Snickett & Fawna are quite proud, doing fine and already flirting by noon! :o Thank goodness I was prepared in the sense that I have all their foods ready, the water is ready too. Yesterday, we kind of laughed at Snickett because his belly was so big that he'd lose control of himself and find himself big pregnant belly up headed tail over tea kettle toward calmer waters. He had his heart set on something in particular in that area and kept going back for more until he bumped his head on the glass. His wife Fawna came to his rescue, took him by the tail and helped him out for a while. These are such amazing little critters! Now we're off to get their housing for their Kreisel System. We'll have that set up by tonight, but for now they should be fine. Pictures will be posted soon! Hey, I'm not even a real nervous 1st timer with the babies. :D I'm going to do my very best with them and just hope for a positive outcome! That's all any of us can hope for. I've been very lucky with my 6 Kelloggi Seahorses that I purchased in late Jan of this year. I have one little girl that is recovering nicely from that darn baby aiptasia that attached to her tail overnight in their reef. She will be returning to her mate & family in the next 3 days! More to come in the days ahead! ....Angel :angel1:
