I have two QT tanks running. I have 4 new fish. I wasn't going to say anything until after they'd come through QT, but I just can't keep it a secret.
I am now mommy to a Rainfordi Goby, an Exquisite Wrasse, a baby Two-Spot Candy Hog, and a baby Tomini Tang. Please don't yell at me about the tang... I'll explain him in a minute. :p
The wrasse is doing fabulous! He is such a busy swimmer, and he comes to greet me when I approach the tank! The hog is doing well, too... another busy little swimmer! The goby is proving a bit tricky in QT, as he is a finicky eater. So far, the only thing I can get him to eat is BBS. I am hoping that soon he will expand his palate and try nibbling on some of the frozen tidbits I offer. I have been sorely tempted to put him in the display tank early so he can sift through the sand looking for his choice of buggers. He was a bit shy at first, but he has come to view me being at the tank as a good thing... BBS twice a day has made me a friend!
Now for the tang. My husband liked him, and I really did to. He's only 2 1/2" now, but can get anywhere from 4-6 inches when grown. I told hubby that there was no way I could get him unless I knew for sure that I would be getting a bigger tank by Christmas. Guess what? He told me to get him!So, the tang is in QT and looking very healthy so far. He is a ravenous eater, tearing up the seaweed (soaked in Zoe, Zoecon, and garlic) and gobbling up any meaty bits he sees. He is so cute as he cruises around, "kissing" the PVC. He is terribly shy, though. He bolts into "his" PVC as soon as I come near. I hope he relaxes a bit so I can enjoy him for longer periods up close!
