Default my baby and his home

I introduced myself to you all, but I didn't show you Marlin, my sweet baby... shame on me! (Well, he IS my avatar, but I don't think that counts as a proper introduction!) Marlin started out in a 3 gallon Eclipse. The10 gallonhas been set up since mid-July, and I moved Marlin in after two weeks of waiting for a cycle which never came (I guess I had really good LR). He is very happy in his new home, and I love having him in the room where I spend most of my time - the kitchen! (The macroalgae is no longer in the tank... the crabs kept pulling it out and making an awful mess with it!)

sweetpea that is awesome he looks happy he has beautifull color. But like you said later on down the road when the tank is ready you have got to get him an anenome. But the tank looks good congratulations. sweetpea...... does he host in that fake anenome???? I have heard they are very particular and most of them wont host in them. the second pic looks like he kinda nestled into it.

Thank you! Yes, he hosts the goofy rubber nem... he hides himself completely in it at night! I have actually wondered if he would leave it to host a real nemmy; he seems pretty attached to this one!

I think I will be ready soon to start adding more challenging specimens. I want to have a really nice looking set-up... like a fine piece of art! I would like a BTA, a feather duster worm (or two), a pulsing xenia, maybe some zoas... I am limited because of my lighting (and my experience so far), but I want to truly make the most of what I've got. Any suggestions for my situation and limited knowledge are appreciated!

I forgot to add a comment about Marlin's rubber nemmy... he actually feeds it! At meal time he takes his first bite of food and drops it down into the nem! Too cute!

oh yeah they take care of their homes. one of mine hosts in a forrest of xenia and he takes the first 5 minutes of feeding to make sure his xenia gets fed. they really are humorous little guys.

As far as the things to add, a feather duster or two would work well. They aren't dependent on any specific lighting conditions and they do add a gorgeous bit of movement to a tank.

Thank you for your suggestion Lotus... they are nice aren't they?! Do you have a favorite one? I saw a Christmas Tree one that was very nice looking and a green one that I can't remember the name of... I haven't seen too many in my LFS's lately. I hope to see an increase in their stock soon (more for me to choose from)!

sweetpea, on the topic of your feather dusters, you want to make sure you have ample nutrients in your water colum feather dusters are strictly filter feeder. they can be sometimes tricky. but your right they are beautiful

Thank you, BR, for your compliment!

graphixx, Cyclopeeze would be good for the feather dusters, right? (plus shutting off skimmers/filters for 15-30 min. to give them a chance to eat...)
