after a long time of wanting one, I finally got an anemone (a smallish/med carpet)....
while not the "prettiest" (not the bright green most.....just kind of grayish/blue with a green center), it had been in the LFS's tank for over two weeks and had remained full the entire time (had footed itself in one spot).....what finally sold me on it was the fact that they did a 50% cut on it (because nobody wanted it)......
brought it home, stuck it in a "valley" (where it would be out of flow and direct light since they had ~150W MH and I'm running 250W MH + 130W 7100K PCs), and just left it alone (didn't sulk at all....opened up full and ate a piece of uncooked shrimp)....within 30mins the clowns were showing "welts" (little black marks) which said to me they were trying to get in the anemone (and thus getting stung).....
woke up this morning and sure enough the female was resting comfortably in one of the folds.....
only problem I see is that because the anemone is only about 2X the size of a single clown, the female won't let the male near it (she won't let anyone near it for that matter).....before the anemone, the clowns were getting "beat up" by the damsels....now with the anemone, the female has become "top dog" of the tank....
ps: sorry about the "spots"....need to clean the algae off the glass.....
