Right now the achilles has an ich outbreak. He is being treated in the QT tank with the other 5 fish that were in the 125. I can't believe he got ich even after I QT'd him, grrr. I'm using hyposalinity to cure the ich. I have copper safe and a few other meds, but I prefer to use the hypo method rather then meds if possible. He is looking better and has very few ich specks left on him. None of the other fish seem to be infected. I'm just treating them all for 6 weeks or more so the reef tank will be clear of all traces of ich. (no hosts= end of ich life cycle)
I knew he was an ich magnet, it was a chance I was willing to take. I still wouldn't give him up and I'm not sorry I bought it. That's the fist thing my husband asked...."are you sorry you bought that fish now?" Nope......I'd do it again.
On a good note, I'm using the next 6 weeks to set up a bigger tank and finish cycling the 100 lbs of LR.
