    i thought about leaving him, but he cant jump all the way back out. he hits the inside of the overflow about 2" below the top when he tries to get back over into the tank.

    You could try to mod some type of "escape route" into the overflow. Maby like a peice of flexable tubeing he could swim up and be plobed back into the tank.

    I can already hear the hampster wheels turning in a few peoples minds...LOL
    Does water always taste like salt and poo????

    What about screen straight up around the overflow so it couldn't even get over the plane of the wall?
    120G Reef and 40B reef at work, 120G tank dry and dirty in the garage.

    Try going to a craft store and get the plastic gridding that is used for needle point. It's white plastic and is very flexible and easy to cut to different shapes. It's easily cleaned too. You can easily cut it so that it surrounds tubing and such the holes are only about 1/4". :-)
