    Default New Reidi babies

I once again got a call from the LFS I work at last night. The ORA reidi seahorses had babies. Off to work I went at 6pm. OMG Never having any baby seahorses other then H. Erectus, I was not prepared for how tiny they were. Like eyelash tiny! All I had on hand was newly hatched bbs. I did see a few snick at then, so that's a good sign. I will not do rotifer cultures, so if they can not survive on BBS, they are not going to make it. Sadly, my daughter had the digi cam, so I didn't get any pics. If any make it to Saturday, I will get pics then if not sooner. I didn't even count them. There are 2 more males in the seahorse tank that are preggers.

I set up the kreisel system a week ago for them since I didn't know when they were due. I also started bbs hatchers, but nobody at work bothered to make any new ones. It's a good thing I was making them every other day at home just in case. (I knew nobody would do it at work but me) I love the reidi, but now that I've seen the tiny fry, it's not one I'd want to breed. I'll stick to H. Erectus for that. IF I ever get Reidi, it will be a same sex tank. No babies for me. No thank you!
