Default salfin is dieing : (

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#yesturday my roomate forgot to turn on the ac in the day and the house was about 98 degrees...the tank got up to 88 degrees....and my poor salfin is not looking good...my two cowns look fine, 2 dragon nets seem fine, blennie seems fine, all crabs seem fine, annemone seems fine, mushrooms seem fine, feather duster is fine,I pray to got my coral is fine....but my little salfin is dieing...he is lieing on his side. nitrates, alkinity, and ph were fine....salinity oddly was a little high...not sure whythough....but temp was at 88 i would say fro about an hour and a half....then it took me three hours to get it back down....blasted the ac and but ice baggies in the water. any recommendation...do you think he will be ok?? #ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl# #ed_op#IMG style="WIDTH: 15px; HEIGHT: 18px" height=58 src="http://www.captivereefing.com/richedit/smileys/Sad/9.gif" width=38#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

just get your temp back down to normal and I would recommend keeping the lights off for a day, this will reduce the stress on him. just keep an eye on him and he will hopefully pull through, snails and inverts are way more suseptable to temp swings than fish

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#so yup turned off the ligths...i was so hoeing he would pull through...but as he was slowly flopping around....on of my emerald crabs got his greedy little claws on him and well needless to say...my slfin did not last more than 2 seconds...i saw him grab my tang and i got my hand in there imediately but the crab had instantly tore a chunk out of my tangs side....i think mr. emerald crab is going to be flushed...#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

sorry to hear that, that sucks. I would not flush the emerald, if you have a sump banish him to there, you do not want to kill any of your critters if you dont have to

Don't forget to slowly adjust your salinity to where it should be also.
I'm with graphixx on the bannishment versus flushing. Or just give the crab away to someone who can use it instead of flushing.
    Happy Reefing!

    Default keep in mind

that is the emeralds job they are scavenger creatures if were not there
and you had some crabs to take care a a fish and keep the tank from
spiking to high and crashing your tank you would not be pretty pleased
with your crabs. all creatures have there job I highly doubt if you
crab grabbed him he had much chance for surviving.
