Default Should I get a Pile of Occy's?

I'm stocking the new 240 with fish. I want schools of small fish as opposed to the huge ones I had. So far I have a hippo, coral beauty, yellow tail damsel and a six line. I also have 9 rbta's and one sebae purple tip in three different mounds.

I've seen lots of documentaries where a ton of clowns are living with one big anemone. I know there are dominance issues and winner gets the male parts, but if I had 8 of 'em, can they live in peace if there's enough room and enough anemones to host?

    What do you guys think?

We have four black and white's in the new tank. They all share the rose you gave me and get along just fine ! It even split and they still all sleep in the flower pot lol. I think it's one of the coolest things goin in the tank. The b&w seem to be the most social IMO

I ended up getting 10 occy's. 7 of 'em immediately hosted the Tunze and three shot through the system and ended up in the second tub. I've got about 11 huge anemones in the tank and the tub and they're not even looking at 'em, lol!

Time to get some different types and hope for the best.

I guess I could put the two giant killer Clarkiis back in (they hosted with everything), but I hate those things.

Holly cow !! They got sucked up ?? Or swam right to them ? That really stinks Tom. How small we're these clowns ? You have allot of flow going in those tanks. I personally think baby's would have a though time in that flow. I wouldn't give up on the idea. I would be looking for fish that can handle the flow. If you introduce them a couple at a time and they're the same species they should be able to find a home in all those anemones of their own without to much fighting. The tomato's are the meanest fish in the sea especially when they mate up and start laying eggs.

I agree Chuck. They were about an inch long. I have my 4 tunzes down to 30%, but the Hammerhead is pulling alot of water through the system.

Yeah, those tomato clowns and Maroon clowns are mean suckers. I didn't think the Clarkiis were, but mine are. I'm thinking maybe a gaggle of pink skunks and/or blacks. Just gotta find some that aren't 80$ apiece. I'm not looking for collector grade, just some variety.

You could set up a smaller grow tank off your sump and let em grow, food for thought. Yeah the ones you have are huge! If it was me I would shop around and get em a few or even one at a time that are the size I was looking for. There's Tons of room in that 240 and if they are same species I don't really think they will be an issue.

That might work, Chuck. Maybe I'll leave 'em in the tub for awhile. Pretty calm in there and easy to keep an eye on 'em.

So I'm breaking down the kid's tank and putting the corals in the 240 and I notice one of the occy's hosting in an rbta. I put the first piece of Mike's LR in the tank and all the rbta's shrink up and the little guy shoots out of there. I mean completely gone into their rocks, lol! Something must've stunk on that LR that they didn't like. Still haven't come back out. That was a good sign, though, before I blew it.
