I decided not to get the starfish. They seem hard to keep and I'm not good enough at this hobby at this point to just "try it" and see what happens. I'm at a point that I'm not certain what to get. I'm having horrible luck with Anemone's, therefore my confidence has gotten down. I've had terrific luck with my fish however, but I want some more corals in my tank to give it more of an ocean look. I've just decided at this point to sit back and be patient and take it month by month. Any suggestions on "EASY" corals?![]()

OK. I finally broke down and bought the starfish. It has been at the LFS for a couple of weeks and seems very healthy. It just kept calling my name everytime I walked in the door. I'll keep ya'll posted on his progress. right now he seems to be happy crawling all over the glass. Very interesting speciman. If he lives, I think he may become my favorite animal in the tank. Besides...I've became a "starfish" member acording to my member status.![]()

Well congratulations on your purchase! They are fun to watch work. I didn't think about it earlier but the serpent starfishes are worth the effort and don't take so long to acclimate. We feed ours individually (we have 2). It's fun to watch them crawl out of the rocks at feeding time reaching for dinner. They like big chunks of anything. One even stole the nori I had attached to a rock. There are some pretty ones too.
Enjoy your newest tankmember!

Thanks. I have had a brittle star for awhile. I never see him however because he lives under the LR. I see a tentacle or two at night when I'm throwing in some pellets for my shrimp. At least he was inexpensive, since I can't really enjoy him. My Linkia didn't really move all day. I'm trying not to worry since the four snails I purchased pretty much haven't moved either. I'm hoping I'll wake up in the morning and they will have slithered around the tank. I did acclimate for three hours by slow drip. I love the bright red color. I'll try to post some pix soon.
